Pre-arrival housekeeping essentials

 

  • Post covid we now offer our Guest Information as a download, please read and print to bring with you here this page.

  • Check in is 4pm and out is 10am

  • We will provide you with all the information on the house three months prior to arrival.  The door access codes and wifi passwords will be emailed to you automatically after paying your damages deposit 2 weeks prior to check in. Keys to double lock the house will be left in the kitchen you will only need the access code to get in upon arrival.

  • To operate the key pad enter the four digit code and then push the key symbol. Slight pull to engage the lock then push the door to release. This process needs to be done fairly swiftly or you have to start again.

  • Barford has an Aga and a separate induction hob, which works on contact with the iron content of the pans provided (so no need to wait for the ring to heat up). But this may mean that if you bring a favourite pan from home it may not work on the hob, only the Aga.

  • Recycling bags and boxes are supplied and clearly marked in the washroom

  • Recycling is collected every other Thursday please decant your recycling to the blue and green bins at the end of the driveway using code 2121

  • Bin day is every Thursday.  All rubbish (including tied dog poo bags) should be placed in tied black bin bags in the wheelie bins in the wheelie bin store by the garage.  NO LOOSE RUBBISH whatsoever to be put in the wheelie bins, (as it will not be collected - only tied black binsacks are picked out of the wheelie bins by the refuse collectors!)

  • Heating is underfloor throughout, there are controls in each room. Set to 18 in most rooms.

  • We have mechanical heat recovery and ventilation system in the house which circulates fresh air throughout the house and reduced the need to open windows for air. It also distributes heat throughout.

  • Please make sure all doors and especially the sea side sliding bedroom doors are locked when you go out. The weather can change quickly on the coast.

  • Sauna -  Operating instructions are outside the sauna room.

  • Please download instructions for the hot tub. We will leave a laminated copy by the hot tub, please advise all guests to take care around the hot tub as the chimney and other parts are very hot when in the fire is lit.

  • As the house is super insulated the mobile signal inside the house is dreadful - step outside for a better signal, or use the honesty landline 01288361518.

  • Please let us know how you’d like the beds made up i.e. all as doubles or any as twin? See our floorplans. This information must be with us no later than two weeks before arrival or all beds will be left as doubles.
