Lake and Grounds

Tregulland has 16 acre grounds for the private use of guests.

As well as a terrace and courtyard Tregulland has landscaped lawns with plenty of outdoor eating and seating areas dotted about the properties from which you can enjoy the view. We overlook our own 16 acres of sloping fields leading down to a small wood, stream and Tregulland's well stocked and stunningly beautiful one acre lake. The wood features a variety of indigenous tree species including Silver birch, Wild cherry, Crab-apple, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, English oak, and Rowan.

Otters are a regular visitor up and down the Rver Inny, so we have installed a solar powered electric fence around the lake to protect our mature carp from an otter massacre.

While on holiday, keep your eyes peeled for kestrels, peregrins, skylarks, buzzards, badgers, moles, bats, rabbits, and many more....The grass in the field is kept in trim by the local farmer's sheep, so please make sure you always leave the gates closed.

For experienced anglers the lake is a hidden gem. It is home to plenty of carp including ghostie-carp and mirror carp, some large landlocked brown trout, rudd and roach.

Angling at Tregulland Lake: Our Fish are Not for Eating

We want our guests to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing experience if they fish and to remove any confusion about good angling practice and safeguarding the fishery and breeding cycles.

1.All Anglers must hold a current Environment Agency licence to fish in this country. This is the law in this country.

2.Barbless Hooks only, no crushed or flattened barbs

3.A large padded unhooking mat to be used at all times.

4.Use a 36inch landing net or large Barbel spoon landing net.

5.No baited rods left unattended in the lake or baits left hooked up to rods when not fishing.

6.No leaders, especially lead core leaders,..Tubing is fine..

7.Do not stand up holding fish to photograph, always low down over a padded unhooking mat.

8.No Baitboats, angling drones, or sonar deeper devices.

9.No retainers or carp sacks, all fish to be returned to the lake as quickly as possible.

10.All the gates to the lake to be closed on entry and exit to the lake (this to safeguard the bird life and fish stocks).

11.Our lake manager is more than happy to help with any angling related queries.

12. Obviously please leave no litter!
